We are headquartered in the Texas Hill Country. The majority of our courses take place in and around the greater Marble Falls, TX area. However, our Traveling Survival School is capable of serving anywhere in the state of Texas.

No, we are not a formally accredited organization. However, we do aspire to develop partnerships with accredited colleges and universities in the future. All certificates, awards, and procedures are designed to foster an academic environment and to enable future cooperation with formal institutions.

Verdant (adjective):

1. Green with growing plants or vegetation (e.g.: a verdant countryside); characterized by abundance of verdure.

Born in the 16th century, "verdant" stems from the Old French "verdir" (to grow green) and the Latin "viridis" (green). It originally described lush, plant-covered landscapes. Over time, writers expanded its use to describe the literal color green and metaphorically describe young, naive individuals who are "green" or inexperienced. Today, it remains a formal staple for rich, thriving growth.

Our courses are typically reserved for ages 18+ or 15-17 if accompanied by a legal guardian. However, we offer a variety of opportunities here at The Verdant Compass Institute and are more than willing to consider exemptions to our policy on a case-by-case basis.
