Programs & Services Overview

  • Standardized, academic-level instruction in the Eight Disciplines. These courses are designated by our unique course coding system and designed to build upon previous periods of instruction. Introductory courses establish foundational knowledge and skills, while more advanced courses enable students to refine skills and acquire specialized instruction on a variety of topics. Courses are instructed by vetted personnel who must demonstrate and maintain expertise in associated fields to remain on staff as cadre. Courses are organized according to the Eight Disciplines.

    Public courses are scheduled and posted on theverdantcompass.com. Private courses can be scheduled upon request.

  • The TSS is capable of conducting the entire course catalog, depending on the requested training location. Additionally, the TSS can provide customized training to meet clients’ needs and objectives.

  • Customized packages designed to provide corporate clients with a tailored experience. The audience can range from employees and staff to executive leadership. Offerings include:

    • Speaking Engagements

    • Half-Day Workshops

    • Full-Day Workshops

    • Retreats

    • Extended Events

    These events can include training from any of the Eight Disciplines or custom topics as requested by clients.

  • These events are designed for youth and young adults with the intended purpose to cultivate character, teamwork, and practical knowledge. These events include:

    • Speaking Engagements

    • Workshops

    • Wilderness Trips

    • Competitions

    Instructional topics can vary depending on client objectives.

  • Completely custom events for any group, team, or organization. These events are planned, resourced, and executed by Verdant Compass staff to meet clients’ goals and objectives.

  • Competitive events surrounding survival, bushcraft, navigation, wilderness medicine, and security. Physical fitness and technical expertise are the focus of these events.

  • Planned and guided wilderness trips. Trips are typically requested by groups, but may be pre-planned and available for reservation.

  • Supporting services offered by The Verdant Compass Institute are designed to enable you to more safely navigate unknown territory and accomplish your mission. Our services include:

    • Training Program Design: Complete production of a training program including all content from periods of instruction to presentation. Verdant Compass cadre are capable of facilitating the training or simply development for organizational use.

    • Vulnerability Assessments: Development and presentation of an assessment determining the threat to a location, travel, or personnel. Mitigation and management strategies are included in the assessment.

    • Area Studies: Professionally developed informational packets or presentations concerning designated geographic regions and/or international traveling practices. Delivered to clients and/or presented by Verdant Compass experts. Designed for pre-travel preparation or general preparedness.

    • Other Support: If you have a unique request, we can provide a customized service to fit your needs and objectives.

  • The Verdant Compass Institute Partnership Program was developed as a means to enable cooperation between our company and outside organizations. These organizations include educational institutions, community groups, and government institutions, among others.

    This program accomplishes cooperation through three (3) categories:

    • Collaboration. Intended for long-term curriculum or program development, instructing, and/or the establishment of an organization.

    • Training. This includes season and regularly scheduled programs of training.

    • Custom Pathway Development. Designing and/or implementing training, programs, or information packets specifically tailored to designated goals and objectives.
